ADS-B system set to go online in Louisville

The FAA's first "critical-service" Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast has been installed at Louisville, Ky., starting a key phase in the transition to satellite-based airspace management. Field testing is being completed on the system, which will allow controllers to use more reliable satellite surveillance to separate air traffic at major airports.
