NPs part of Ontario plan to broaden practice parameters

Ontario plans to expand the practice parameters of 11 health professions, including nurse practitioners, to allow them to perform some services now done only by physicians. Premier Dalton McGuinty says NPs would be able to set bone fractures and pharmacists would be able to extend prescription refills. The goal is to reduce wait times and improve care for Canadian patients.
