Public backs Obama's health reform, White House aide says

President Barack Obama's bid to reform the country's health care system enjoys the support of the American people who voted for him during the last election, according to Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform. Democratic lawmakers say they believe they also are backed by the people and plan to push ahead with the reform even without the Republicans, who say they prefer a bipartisan effort.
