Trade group slams comments by Delta, American executives

The Interactive Travel Services Association, which represents global distribution systems as well as online travel agencies, criticized comments by airline executives that called for travel agents to pay to book airline flights. "The unfortunate comments of Messrs. [American CEO Gerard] Arpey and [Delta CEO Richard] Anderson should flash 'danger' to the entire travel community," said Art Sackler, ITSA's executive director. "They're an early warning of what airlines could do if granted the broad antitrust immunity they are seeking in the OneWorld and Star Alliance proceedings currently before the Department of Transportation."
