$10 million gift to fund USC center for learning disabilities

The University of Southern California received a $10 million grant toward a center for students with dyslexia, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and other learning disabilities. Walter Kortschak and his wife, Marcia, who is dyslexic, also have two sons with learning challenges, and they are providing the gift to pay for tutoring, counseling, treatment and technological assistance for students. The money will also sponsor academic research.
