Chatham Lodging Trust buys 6 extended-stay hotels

In its first acquisitions since going public on April 21, Palm Beach, Fla.-based Chatham Lodging Trust has acquired six Homewood Suites by Hilton from hotel investment firm RLJ Development for $73.5 million, or about $90,406 per suite. The hotels are in Dallas; Nashville, Tenn.; Orlando, Fla.; Minneapolis; Boston; and Hartford, Conn., and Chatham says it expects to acquire more upscale, extended-stay and premium-branded select service hotels in the future.
