A "technical oversight" on social shopping site Blippy that caused the credit card numbers and purchases of some users to appear in Google search results is a reminder of the need for agencies and marketers to ensure the safety of their data and that of their customers, said E.J. Hilbert, president of Epic Advertising's Online Intelligence Division. "Online advertising is mainstream; it's not something you play around in," Hilbert said. "Every major company needs to be in it. And being in it means you must protect your clients' data."
