Florida legislature advances bill prohibiting restraint and seclusion

Legislators in Florida's state House of Representatives passed a measure that would prohibit the use of restraint and seclusion by schools in the discipline of students with disabilities. Florida is among 19 states with no laws regulating seclusion or restraint practices; the state Senate is scheduled to review its version of the bill this week.
