GE, Nissan announce R&D venture for electric cars

General Electric and Nissan Motor formed a three-year agreement on research and development that will focus on charging stations for electric vehicles. Their effort will center on "smart" charging stations that permit communication with utility companies. The point is to ease strain on electric power grids and eventually develop the cars into a power-storage source.
