Israel to allow the use of SPECT in determining brain death

The Israeli Health Ministry is planning to add to the list of medical tests that doctors can use to accurately determine brain death. The move is in response to a report that Israeli hospitals' ability to determine brain death has decreased. Among the additional procedures to be used is SPECT, which would allow for the 3-D mapping of the brain to identify activity level.
