LaHood: Conn. could be first to finish high-speed rail

Connecticut could be the first state in the nation to provide high-speed rail service, according to Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. On a visit to the state, LaHood indicated that the state's cooperative approach could help it land a portion of the second round of federal high-speed rail grants, which will total $2.5 billion.
