Travelers may want to consider insurance after volcano

The volcanic ash that disrupted thousands of flights and the plans of hundreds of thousands of travelers also forced many to spend more than they had planned. The situation is expected to prompt many travelers to consider buying travel insurance to protect themselves. "If you're buying a travel investment -- it's the trip of a lifetime, a honeymoon ... and it's a big event and you're investing thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars, it probably would make sense to consider insurance to protect that investment," said John Pittman, vice president of industry affairs at ASTA.
