Wal-Mart awaits a multibranding opportunity in India

Wal-Mart said it will jump at the chance to enter India's multibranded retail segment if and when the country decides to allow foreign direct investment into the sector. "In case the government decides to allow FDI into multi-branded retailing we will be happy to participate in it. We can set up our chain of stores in a matter of months ... a maximum of one year," said Wal-Mart India President Raj Jain.
