EPA to gather experts that will formulate metrics for biomass-based emissions

The Environmental Protection Agency is looking for scientists to help chart the carbon footprint of power plants and industrial facilities that use biomass to produce energy. The EPA would capitalize on a three-year delay of rules on biomass-based emissions to rework measurement methods for various types of feedstock. The agency is expected today to submit nominations for an advisory panel that will focus on the study.
