$2.5B hospital project in San Francisco clears "major hurdle"

A $2.5 billion hospital-construction project in San Francisco has been approved by the city's Planning Commission. The project entails seismic retrofits at five California Pacific Medical Center buildings in the area, and construction of a 15-story, 555-bed hospital. The project is expected to generate 1,500 construction jobs, but still needs more approvals.
