Rhodia, Brazilian institute to work on biochemistry processes

Solvay's Rhodia unit and Brazil's National Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory, or CTBE, will work on chemical processes for synthesizing biomass in sugarcane. "The first two years of development of these technologies will be carried out on a laboratorial scale, followed by scale up efforts at CTBE's process-development pilot plant," said Maria Teresa Barbosa, research chief at CTBE.
