FDA to expand research on tainted lettuce

Results from a small sample of the grocery store lettuce found high amounts of perchlorate, a toxic ingredient found in rocket fuel. FDA scientists say they believe the lettuce was tainted by irrigation of Colorado River water, which is known to be polluted with perchlorate.
