Verizon Wireless picks McCann Erickson as ad agency

After a 13-week review of nine ad agencies, Verizon Wireless has picked Interpublic Group's McCann Erickson in New York to handle its estimated $400 million advertising account. The wireless phone giant, which in a first-quarter report said it gained 1.4 million customers during last year's fourth quarter, had earlier been with the Lowe agency of New York.
