Most teens don't consider online postings, e-mail to be "real writing"

Two of three students polled recently by the Pew Internet & American Life Project said the informal language of text messaging sometimes slips into their schoolwork. Half said they had omitted proper punctuation or capitalization, a third said they'd used text shorthand and a quarter said they'd used smiley faces in classroom assignments.
