Lack of emissions analysis prompts EPA to kill permit for coal plant

The EPA has withdrawn a permit issued last summer for a 1,500-megawatt, coal-fired power plant on Navajo Nation property because the permit was issued before an emissions and environmental analysis was conducted. Reuters says the move is an "example of President Barack Obama's administration cracking down on coal." Supporters of the plant say it would create jobs, while critics point out that it would increase pollution in the area.
