Psoriasis linked to hypertension, diabetes in women

Data from the Nurses' Health Study II found women who developed psoriasis were at increased risk for diabetes and hypertension. Researchers said the study demonstrates the importance of considering psoriasis a systemic disorder rather than just a skin disease. They said more studies are needed to find out if treating psoriasis reduces the risk for diabetes and hypertension.
