Element by Westin hotel goes for the green

An Element by Westin hotel in Las Vegas is being transformed into a model of green hospitality as the general manager strives to pursue silver LEED certification for the property from the U.S. Green Building Council. The 127-room boutique hotel, which opened in December 2008, is only the third Element by Westin in the country and its eco-friendly features include flooring made of recycled rubber and vinyl, recycled carpeting, low volatile organic compound paints and adhesives that produce minimal emissions.
