Illinois bill that would ban pet primates heads to governor

A bill that would bar Illinois residents from keeping primates as pets cleared the state Senate on Tuesday. The measure, which goes to the governor's office for signing, is part of a nationwide push to ban primate ownership in response to a chimpanzee-mauling incident in Connecticut.
