Millions of Americans gave up their plastic in 2010, study says

A recent study by TransUnion found that 8 million consumers in the U.S. decided in 2010 to give up using their general purpose credit cards. "There's a growing movement of people who are just stopping the use of plastic and not using services that require credit or debit cards," says David Spader, a financial analyst at SavingsAccount.org. "Everything is paid in cash or check, or not at all."
