Research tells history of reinforced concrete in Basque country

New research from the University of the Basque Country shows how the Spanish province of Gipuzkoa has employed reinforced concrete in construction over the decades. Its use coincided with the region's industrialization and the advent of Portland cement. The region's reinforced concrete buildings initially mimicked traditional Basque farmhouses and other structures.
