Verizon is hit with nationwide LTE network outage

Verizon Wireless suffered the first major outage of its 4G long-term evolution network on Wednesday, forcing users of the company's flagship HTC Thunderbolt and USB modems to connect at network speeds far below those promised by the company. Early reports indicated that the network, which was first up and running in December, has started coming back online in some of the service's 45 markets.
