Smart-grid tech could add 10,000 jobs in the U.K., report says

Updating the U.K. power distribution infrastructure with smart-grid technologies might help create up to 10,000 jobs and provide the economy with a $21 billion boost, according to a report by Ernst & Young. The report was commissioned by SmartGrid GB, an industry group that includes BT Group, Cable & Wireless, General Electric, IBM, Scottish Power, Siemens and Toshiba.
