Samples, guest chefs are used to increase school meal participation

Some New York schools are working to encourage more students to eat school meals by inviting guest chefs to cook food aligned with new meal standards. Schools also are offering samples of dishes, and one school plans to host a barbecue for students. "The hardest part sometimes is to get kids to try it," Foodservice Manager Annette Chamberlain said.
