World languages immersion catches on in Ariz. schools

The Scottsdale, Ariz., school district has launched a world languages immersion program at Pueblo Elementary School, in which students spend half the day learning the curriculum in Spanish. During a recent visit to the school, John Huppenthal, Arizona's superintendent of public instruction, said that while the state does not have a world language initiative, he would like to see more data on how students have benefited from the program.
