Houston district officials say charter school inflated numbers

A Houston charter school for at-risk teens must repay $358,000 in state funding it received for more than 200 students who did not actually attend last year, Houston district officials say. ALTA Academy representatives acknowledged some record-keeping mistakes but said they will appeal the $358,000 repayment to the school board.
