Arizona senators approve immigration verification bill

Arizona's Senate has passed an adjustment to the Arizona Legal Workers Act that would require state and local government contracts to go only to companies that use the federal E-Verify system to make sure they are not hiring illegal immigrants. The bill also attempts to curtail cash payments to illegal immigrants by businesses that are also avoiding taxes.
