Water deal favored despite concerns for future needs

Although a $180 million plan to transport reclaimed water from Florida's Hillsborough County and the city of Tampa is expected to gain final approval, some question whether proponents of the deal are overlooking long-term ramifications. The water, most of which currently ends up in Tampa Bay, would be sold to Tampa Electric Co.'s Polk Power Station and surrounding Polk County, but critics say the water may some day be needed to meet growing demand in Tampa and Hillsborough.
