Artificial turf to come to 4 California football fields

The Chaffey Joint Union High School District in California plans to spend $6 million to install artificial turf at four of its football fields. The turf will last up to a dozen years and comes with an eight-year warranty. "Synthetic turf is a reflecting surface and not an absorbing one, so we'll just have to water it in the summer right before football practice to cool the area," said Mike Harrison, district director of operations and planning.
