First U.S. swine flu death reported in Texas

U.S President Barack Obama confirmed the first U.S. swine flu death, a 23-month-old Mexican in Houston. Another child, Edgar Hernandez of the Mexican farming community of La Gloria, is the earliest known person to contract the disease. Hernandez, who survived, might provide clues as to how the disease was contracted and transmitted. No pigs in the agribusiness area have been diagnosed as sick.
