A National Board Certified Teacher is among 16 finalists for Alabama's Teacher of the Year award. Kim Bowen, a first-grade teacher, works to meet individual student needs and also participates in professional development to enhance her own teaching. "I often share with my students what I've learned about how they learn," Bowen said. "It lets them know, even though I'm their teacher, I too am still learning just like them."
