Student field trips fall victim to economy

As school districts nationwide face budget shortfalls, officials have begun to eliminate field trips as a way to save money. Some say a disservice will be done to students by eliminating the trips, while others say the cuts were inevitable given the pressures of impending layoffs and No Child Left Behind benchmarks.
