Survey: Consumers tend to downplay recalls

In a survey about food recalls done by the Rutgers University Food Policy Institute, one-third of respondents said the government often overreacts, and 40% said the foods they purchase are less likely to be recalled than products purchased by others. In general, people believe food recalls are important but don't necessarily apply to them.
