Airlines told to inspect Q400 for safety flaw

The FAA today plans to issue a safety directive ordering airlines to inspect Bombardier Q400 turboprop aircraft to ensure that safety systems work properly in icy conditions. U.S. carriers operate 69 Q400 aircraft, the model involved in a fatal accident near Buffalo, N.Y., last year.
