Chicago airport's green roofs absorb dust, sound waves

The city of Chicago is planning to install its sixth green roof at O'Hare International Airport. The airport has 33,967 square feet of green roofs and plans to boost the square footage to 390,840 square feet. Green roofs can help absorb dust and capture sound waves as well as counteract heat generated from large expanses of paved surfaces.
