Hormone physiology explains human-animal bond

New studies show that the bond between pets and their owners lies in the hormone physiology of humans and animals. In one study that looked into the relationship between the bonding hormone oxytocin and the stress hormone cortisol, dogs were found to exhibit higher oxytocin levels shortly after interacting with their owners.
