Idaho dairy switches to solar-heating system

An Idaho dairy farm has shaved thousands of dollars off its monthly propane bill by using a solar thermal system to heat water needed to feed calves and sterilize equipment. The roof-mounted solar kit cost $75,000 to install but should enable the farm to cut its propane needs by almost two-thirds.
