MU research reactor prepares for switch to LEU

The University of Missouri Research Reactor Center is preparing for the process of switching from the use of weapons-grade uranium to low-enriched uranium. The Idaho National Lab Advanced Test Reactor currently is undertaking a three-step conversion process, and once the lower-grade fuel is certified by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the fuel can be used by MU and the four other U.S. research reactors.
