Violent gangs terrorize Mexico's Acapulco, Cuernavaca

Violence again has flared up in Acapulco, the famed Mexican beach resort town, with hit men shooting at one another and drug gangs vying for control of smuggling routes. Cuernavaca, a colonial getaway town, also has seen a surge in violence. The incidents have put added pressure on the country's tourism industry. "Obviously, we can't lie and say nothing is happening when you can see the number of dead on the news," said Pedro Falcon, a representative of travel agencies. "But we have to keep working despite the crisis, not let fear or panic take over."
