Motorola revenues outpace estimates on Atrix, Droid phones

Motorola Mobility sold 4.1 million smartphones in the first quarter, almost 10% ahead of analysts' estimates, as revenues grew 22% on strong sales for its Atrix and Droid handsets. Motorola also said it had shipped 250,000 Xoom tablets in the device's first month on the market, a higher figure than many analysts had indicated. Executives also discussed future product launches, saying Motorola soon would ship a Wi-Fi Xoom for Sprint at a price of $600.
