Bankers voice concerns about disparate regulations

Regulators, lawmakers and other officials worldwide appear to agree on how financial regulations should be revamped. They want standardized over-the-counter derivatives processed through clearinghouses and tougher capital and liquidity requirements for banks. However, national regulators have sought to tweak global standards to better suit their systems. The situation is causing concern among bankers, who say the rules are sometimes at odds with one another.
