No $2B loan for new Tappan Zee Bridge

The Tappan Zee Bridge in New York is "one of the high priority infrastructure projects," said a spokesman for the Department of Transportation, but it was not given a $2 billion federal loan to help with financing. However, it was short-listed should additional transportation funds become available. "We understand that in light of current financing constraints, the USDOT has prioritized smaller projects that are further along in development and required immediate financing in this first round," said New York State Thruway Executive Director Thomas Madison.
