Survey: Patients have high expectations for social media

More than three-quarters of consumers surveyed for a PricewaterhouseCoopers report expect health care providers to respond within 24 hours to appointment requests made using social media. A majority of those surveyed trust their health care provider, but only 37% trust information from drugmakers. One-third of survey respondents said they would allow their social media interactions to be monitored if it meant improving their health or their health care.
