Charlotte, N.C., mayor to be nominated to head DOT

Charlotte, N.C., Mayor Anthony Foxx today will be nominated by President Barack Obama as the new secretary of transportation, according to reports. Foxx, an African-American, was mayor during the "expansion of the Charlotte/Douglas International Airport and the LYNX light rail system," along with the Charlotte Streetcar Project. DOT Secretary Ray LaHood will stay in the position until a new secretary is confirmed.
