Exxon to kick off development drilling in Indonesian oil block

ExxonMobil this week will commence development drilling in the Banyu Urip oilfield in Indonesia's Cepu block, according to SKKMigas, the country's oil and natural gas regulator. Twenty-five new wells are part of the program, which is expected to increase production to about 110,000 barrels per day by July 2014, said Elan Biantoro, a spokesman for SKKMigas. "Development of CPF and others are progressing to meet our target of full capacity production of 165,000 [barrels per day] at the end of 2014," said Exxon spokesman Erwin Maryoto.
