H&M applies to open 50 India stores

Sweden-based apparel retailer H&M has requested permission for a plan to invest $131 million to open 50 wholly owned stores in India, a government official said. The announcement comes as officials prepare to decide on IKEA's $1.93 billion proposal to open its first India stores.
